About me
My name is Hailey Homen and I am a fifth grade teacher at River Islands Technology Academy in Lathrop, California. I have been teaching for six years. I am currently in the process of getting my master's degree in Environmental Literacy at Teachers College of San Joaquin. I am excited (and nervous) for this new journey I am on.
I am recently engaged and will be getting married in October. Planning a wedding and going back to school at the same time is not the easiest thing, but I am making it work! I am a huge family person! I love hanging out with my fiance and both of our families. We have a german shepherd named Daisy. She is two and full of energy. I loved to read and work on puzzles in my free time.

Educational Philosophy
Education has been and still is a huge part of my life. I knew that I wanted to be a teacher at a young age. I believe that my role as an educator is to help children on this path called life. I am there to meet their needs, whether that means a listening ear, a source of compassion, or a shoulder to lean on. My goal is to meet their all of their needs while passing on information. I truly believe in order for learning to take place, relationships need to be built first. That is what I strive for - relationships and bonds being made.
